Well done to our division 1A team who continued their winning ways again with a convincing away victory over Castlerahan recently.
Our division two team played Swanlinbar on the 3G pitch on Wednesday evening last. This was a high-scoring game with the Gaels racing into a decisive lead in the first half only to be hauled back after the break by a resurgent Swanlinbar. At the final whistle we had survived by two points. Well done to all concerned.

Our under-12s have an away game against Bailieboro in the first game of this year’s summer league. This takes place on Saturday next 24 May at 12 noon. The rest of the games will be on Fridays. The other teams in our group are Ramor United, Killygarry, Gowna and Crosserlough.
Congratulations to our under-14 team and their management on their fine display against Laragh United on Monday last. This was a much improved performance. Keep up the good work. Our next game in this competition is away to Maghera.
Our under-16s opened their campaign with a home game against West Cavan Gaels on Thursday last. After a competitive first half we ran out convincing winners. We then had a narrow loss to Ballyhaise. In our next game we were at home to Ramor United. Despite a great effort the spoils went to the visitors. Our next game is at home to O Raghallaigh Gaels.
Well done to our under-10s on their fine displays in the recent under-10 blitz in Drumalee. A word of thanks to the management for all their coaching.

Congratulations to Cavan Gaels man, Oliver Galligan, on being elected Ulster Council Treasurer at the recent Ulster GAA convention. Oliver, a former Cavan Gaels player and chairman, was previously Ulster Council PRO. He was Cavan Gaels chairman from 1992-1996 and as a player he won senior championship medals in 1975, 1977 and 1978. He also won senior league medals in 1971 and 1976 when he was captain. We wish Oliver well in his new position.
The Life of Reilly Festival, as part of the Cavan Gathering, will take place from August 19 to August 25. Among the events taking place are the election of a clan chieftain, a banquet, a golf classic and numerous historical and musical events. Mission Trimpossible held a 5km walk/run on Sunday morning last at 12 midday starting and finishing at the Studio, Dublin RoadThanks to the generosity of the participants a total of 300 euro was collected on the day for the very worthy charity Sosad. Thanks to the organisers of this venture for all the money they continue to raise for Cavan Gaels and charity.
