SENIORS & JUNIORS Final Score: Cootehill Celtic 1 – 06 Swanlinbar 0 – 11
Unfortunately that loss put a big dent in Cootehill’s ambitions in finishing top of the Division 2 league and a promotion playoff to potentially play Senior League and Championship next season.
The Seniors will now play Mountnugent in the GAA Grounds, Mountnugent on this Friday 17th at 7.30pm.
Hard luck to the Juniors who were beaten by a strong Bailieboro team last Wednesday in Hugh O’Reilly Memorial Park on a 2-14 to 1-8 score line.
The Juniors will play Drumgoon in the First Round of the Junior C Reserve Championship next Wednesday 22nd August at 7pm
RED OR BLACK The nature of the event involves multiple game rounds which feature tasks where Red teams or individuals face off against Black teams or individuals, until there is only one contender remaining who will spin the wheel live on stage for the Jackpot prize of €5000.
To participate all you have to do is purchase an admission ticket priced at €10. On the night there will be a number of tasks to be completed by volunteers. The tasks will be competitive and the 2 teams in each task will represent Red or Black.
The audience will be divided by choosing the Red or Black teams. After each task the winning colour ticket holders will progress into the next round of tasks.

The club is hosting a 'Red or Black' event based on the hit TV show in Errigal House Hotel on Friday 19th October and a chance to win a Jackpot prize of €5000!!

The Eire Óg Celtic (Cootehill / Drumgoon) amalgamation were beaten by Ballymachugh on Monday last in the first round of the Minor ‘B’ Championship.
Due to the heavy rain, the game was switched at the very last minute to Boyle Park, Drumgoon and the local team got off to the perfect start going 1-2 to no score into the lead earlier on. But two Ballymachugh goals before half time put them 2-5 to 1-5 in front at half time and the visitors were able to hold that goal advantage throughout the second half and won on by three points.
This month promises to be one of the busy on the club calendar with action at all levels of the club on the playing fields. The club will be hosting Tournaments for the Under 12s, Under 14s and also the Under 16s.
